The EU Food Safety Project supports the dairy sector in the TCc by providing technical assistance, guidance to strengthen food safety, hygiene, traceability and PDO-related practices throughout the milk chain.

Working with farmers, milk collectors, dairy processors, laboratories and other relevant stakeholders, the Project supports the sector in improving practices related to milk collection, cold-chain management, sampling, laboratory testing, hygiene and traceability.

The Project also provides technical support to help dairy businesses better understand and implement PDO requirements, strengthening their preparedness for the PDO certification process.

Through training, practical guidance and capacity building, the Project contributes to a stronger and more robust dairy sector—supporting producers as they work towards safe, high-quality and PDO-compliant Halloumi/Hellim production.
