Enhancing Food Safety Through Farm Categorisation

As part of the EU Food Safety project, a ranking scheme and related procedures are being developed for the categorisation of commercial dairy and meat establishments.

Experts have started pilot visiting 10 farms to carry out assessments based on a detailed checklist. These visits aim to evaluate current practices and determine areas for improvement in line with food safety standards.

Following the initial assessments, tailored action plans will be developed for each farm, providing clear guidance and timelines for improvements. Once actions are implemented, farms will be revisited, and final categorisation will be carried out by the experts.

This step-by-step approach fosters continuous improvement and ensures safer and more resilient food production for everyone.
