Enhancing Food Safety and Slaughterhouse Practices in the TCc

An EU FSP international expert recently visited major slaughterhouses in the TCc, covering about 80% of all slaughtering activities. The visits focused on key aspects such as ante- and post-mortem procedures, facility structures, and work practices of slaughterhouse staff and veterinarians.

Based on these on-site assessments, a set of recommendations to support improvements in operations, hygiene and animal health have been provided.

This activity represents an important step toward strengthening food safety and promoting animal welfare across the TCc.
