EU FOOD SAFETY PROJECT: 15th STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING HIGHLIGHTS CONTINUED PROGRESS AND COOPERATION
The 15th Steering Committee Meeting of the EU FSP was successfully held on Wednesday, 2 April 2025, bringing together key project stakeholders to review progress and shape the next steps for strengthening food safety and animal health.
The meeting covered the 8th Quarterly Report period (November 2024 – February 2025), with updates on capacity building, control activities, and enhanced surveillance. Notable developments included additional PDO certifications, improved hygiene and traceability practices in farms and dairies, and the completion of sampling programs for pesticide residues.
Stakeholders emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration in areas such as veterinary staffing, laboratory capacity, biosecurity, and alignment with EU standards. Plans were discussed to continue strengthening the effectiveness of the implemented food safety requirements and ensure preparedness for upcoming audits and inspections.
